I think the Huns crossing into Europe was the reason it fell. The pressure they created by pushing and grouping all the barbarians was just too much. The roman state proved itself to be the most vulnerable to these migrations from Asia to Europe. Time and again, when steppe nomads crossed into the continent, there was a huge collapse. First the Huns, then the Avars (you could include the Arabs too after them), the Bulgars, the Pechenegs, and finally the Turks, who ended it for good.

Just binged all of season 1. Really enjoyed it, great job guys! Looking forward to binging season 2 now corona virus has given me a lot of time to kill!
