.. out stronger despite all the enemies and factors against him. I saw on wiki that the population of the empire was around 5 million, and when his son took over it was 10 million. Alexios success doubled the tax base and army pool and can see how this lead to the komeninian golden age. Basically what I’m saying is he should have got 19 on success and is the aurelian of the east! 😆

Love the podcast guys. I’m rooting for alexios 1 next round. He was the whole package, did his own fighting, political fighting mastermind, personal charisma being able to control or at least manage the volatile crusaders. Economically sound, lead to a 100 year golden age and stability, ended the chaos and brought peace to the empire and expanded it. I disagree with the low success score you gave him, he was really up against it and the empire was on the brink of collapse and he brought it...
