What can we say about Gallus? Seriously. What can we say about Gallus. If you can let us know we would be grateful. "He wasn't an awful human being," is possibly the highest praise even his mother could have given him. No wonder the world is in crisis... at least he has his trustworthy friend Valarian to help him...

Go Gallus.... his coins are quite inferior with silver content.... drops quick to little by Valerian

I collect Roman coins and I noticed about Year 235 (death of Severus Alexander... poor young man), the Coins of Maximinus Thrax and beyond drop from 40% silver overall solid (sort of grey colour) to 35% to 30% 25% of Phillip the Arab. I cut one open and saw (Phillip 244 to 249) a copper core with probably 60% silver cad on the outside. By Gallius, the cad silver is thinner... probably now 15% silver overall. By Vallerian, only a silver "wash" is done.... so really 5% and dropping. By Probius... just copper and smaller. I figure an Trajan solid silver 85% silver Denarius was worth 3X than the double denarius Phillip coins. By End of Vallerian... since now just copper, 40x. So soldiers were demanding gold or lots and lots of the new money,
