The first our Tribune of the Pleb Trilogy: Tiberius Gracchus. The political world goes from functioning to Julius Caesar pulling down the republic in 100 years. It starts here, with a rich young senator who notices that things in Rome are a tad unfair. Surely those super-rich would be willing to be reasonable and make sure the average citizen has enough to get by.... Surely. They won't fight tooth and nail at every step of the way will they? Why are they tying strips round their heads and breaking off chair legs? Oh dear... 

RR:TR 03 Marius

Marius is the man before Sulla who was the man before Caesar. The fall of the Republic often is cited to have begun here, but why? What did this son of a farmer have to offer besides neat horses and a funny accent? Why was he obsessed with 7 eagles? Why did he hate Sulla and why, if he was such a great general, was he so rubbish at not being one?
